Rules To Live By

Some simple rules I have formulated based solely on my own experiences

1. perfection is impossible.
2. everyone is biased.
3. never turn down free food.
4. every system will be misused.
5. patterns are everywhere.
6. it's all been done.
7. the only way to know is by checking.
8. never trust anyone claiming to be in contact with God(tm).
9. never underestimate:
   • how cruel a woman can be to another woman.
   • how cold it will be in:
     • NYC.
     • the train station.
10. where there is one there is likely another.
11. politicians will spend every penny you give them and more.
12. government-funded organizations never die.
13. pain is the worst thing in life.
14. repeating something long enough makes it the truth.
15. predators seek the easiest prey.
16. industries tend towards consolidation.
17. the value of artificially-valued assets shrinks over time.
