Rules Of Life
Some simple rules I have formulated based solely on my own experiences.
Many of them are clichés. Who knew? the old folks were right.
- everyone is biased.
- nothing is absolute; context is everything.
- perfection is impossible.
- you can't go back.
- nil novo sub sole.
- the easiest way to get something is to ask for it.
- the only way to know is by checking.
- patterns are everywhere.
- perception is reality.
- one can convince one's self of anything.
- repeating lies often enough makes them believable.
- every system will be misused.
- work smarter, not harder.
- follow the money.
- pain is the worst thing in life.
- communication is the most difficult aspect of organization.
- new industries disperse, old ones consolidate.
- most things fall to the lowest common denominator.
- predators always seek the easiest prey.
- politicians will spend every penny you give them and more.
- government-funded organizations never die.
- the value of artificially-valued assets shrinks over time.
- never trust anyone claiming to:
- be in contact with God.
- make you easy money
- never underestimate:
- nature.
- how cruel a woman can be to another woman.
